题记：这是一个普普通通的中国女孩子在九十年代末期留学日本时发生的故事。

东京四谷（四ツ谷）
1998年2月23日，星期一。
坐在7号馆的一间大教室里，林欣像一只待宰的羔羊---她很紧张。
今天是笔试，先考专业课，然后是英文。
林欣来的时候，其他的研究生差不多都到了。那三个中国同学和几个韩国同学和她点头打招呼。林欣看得出，他们也紧张得很。
安妮竟还没有来！她可真沉得住气！
八点五十五分，穿着浅灰与淡赭红格子裤的音教授拿着一沓卷子走进来，脸上还是一贯的朝气蓬勃。他是系里最年轻的教授。和其他教授沉闷一色的公司打扮不同，他总是衣着光鲜，配以色彩夺目的领带，什么柠檬黄、粉红等等。林欣还没有上过他的课，不过听说在女生里他很有人缘。
音教授立在讲台后，看一看手表，又低头理一理卷子，只等着9点。这时安妮急匆匆地走进来。音教授对她微笑着点了点头。
林欣心里的一块石头才落了地。
安妮在林欣身旁的位子上坐了下来，两人相视一笑。
专业课的考试题目林欣都准备过，并不算难，只是题量大。静悄悄的教室里一片走笔如飞的刷刷声。林欣听见身边的安妮不时重重地呼出两口气。
英文考试是翻译两大段英文报道。有几个词林欣不认识，不过大意很明白。只是为了找到适的日语来表达，还是费了很大的劲。
笔试完了，林欣、安妮两人去学生食堂吃饭。
≈ap;ldo;我今天担心死了，以为你不来了呢！≈ap;rdo;林欣一边用勺子舀着盘子里的咖喱饭，一边对安妮说。
≈ap;ldo;为什么？！≈ap;rdo;安妮看起来有点不高兴地说：≈ap;ldo;我起晚了，错过了一趟电车。≈ap;rdo;
林欣忙说≈ap;ldo;赶上就好。≈ap;rdo;
两人都没问对方考得如何。沉默地吃了一会儿，安妮忽然开心地对林欣说：≈ap;ldo;我帮你申请了駒場留学生会館！申请表就在办公室里，我那天去办事看见了就顺便帮你填了交上去了。≈ap;rdo;
≈ap;ldo;你太好了，安妮！≈ap;rdo;林欣忍不住叫了起来。
≈ap;ldo;i a yel！≈ap;rdo;安妮笑着说。
听了这话，林欣心里稍稍有些不快。她以为anl这个词用在这里和≈ap;ldo;救世≈ap;rdo;的意思差不多。但是想着安妮对自己的好，就迅速把这点不愉快收拾起来了。
2月26日星期四是笔试成绩放榜的日子，笔试过了的人同一天参加口试。林欣和安妮在校门口约齐了一起去看榜。所有格学生的考号都用墨笔写在一张巨大的白纸上，就贴在校园门口的橱窗里。
到了榜前，两人紧张地各自找自己的考号。谢天谢地，两人都过了！她们互相抓着对方的双手，高兴地跳了起来！是真的跳了起来！嘴里还同时嚷着：≈ap;ldo;太好了！（よかった！）≈ap;rdo;
她们都知道，过了笔试，就基本上是胜利在望了！
口试的考官是春原教授，他是系里最德高望重的教授。另外两位陪考的是武市和山田，整个口试过程中，两人一言未发。春原教授并没有怎么问专业方面的问题。他更关心的是林欣选择大众传媒专业，特别是来日本读大众传媒专业的原因。春原教授曾经当着林欣的面批评中国学生的素质现在大不如前，不是只顾着打工赚钱，就是把日本作跳板去美国。春原教授问这个问题，林欣一点也不奇怪。
很认真地思了一下，林欣说：≈ap;ldo;我父亲年轻时的理想是成为一名记者，不过未能如愿。可能是受父亲的影响，从小我就对报纸有浓厚的兴趣。后来家里有了电视，对于电视报道也开始感兴趣。考大学的时候，本来想报考新闻专业，但是父亲认为做记者的风险性太大，强烈反对，就选择了对外汉语专业。大学三年级的时候，我认识了一位传媒专业的教授。教授建议我可以做大众传媒方面的研究工作。在中国，这个领域的研究历史非常短，很多理论都是从国外引入的。其中许多资料也是从日文翻译过来的。我在大学学了四年日语。我认为与其读别人翻译的东西，不如自己直接去读原文。虽然改革开放以来，中国在新闻自由方面进步了很多，但是和日本相比，还差得很远。来日本以后，我每天都读《朝日新聞》、《日本経済新聞》、《毎日新聞》和《読売新聞》的头新闻。通过比较，我发现这些报纸在报道同一个事件的时候，视角和观点往往是不同的。我也喜欢读一些专栏，比如《朝日新聞》的≈ap;ldo;天声人语≈ap;rdo;等等。筑紫哲也的news 23 和久米宏的news station 也是我经常看的新闻节目。我特别喜欢筑紫哲也的≈ap;ldo;多事総論≈ap;rdo;，他对于实事的点评总是非常深刻。我认为在日本，我可以学到很多有关新闻报导的东西。我一定会努力学习。≈ap;rdo;

四月一号，星期二的大学院入学仪式上，林欣和安妮都穿了套装隆重出席。林欣见到了所有的韩国研究生，还有日本学生高桥，她这才知道中国学生里只有她一个人通过了考试。
