大谷的电话是林欣回国两星期后的一个傍晚打来的。是小舅妈接的。
≈ap;ldo;欣欣，电话！≈ap;rdo;小舅妈快五十岁的人了，说话还是嗲嗲的。
≈ap;ldo;来啦！≈ap;rdo;林欣忙走到饭厅里去接过听筒。小舅妈凑到林欣跟前压低声音说：≈ap;ldo;还是个日本人呢！叫大谷什么的≈ap;hellip;≈ap;hellip;≈ap;rdo;
林欣微微红了脸,把话筒放在嘴边,说了声:≈ap;ldo;喂?≈ap;rdo;瞟了一眼还站在原地的小舅妈,小舅妈这才一步一回头地出去了。
听筒那边的大谷迟疑了一下，说了声：≈ap;ldo;もしもし？≈ap;rdo;
林欣于是换了日语说：≈ap;ldo;我是林。≈ap;rdo;
电话那一头大谷也用日语说：≈ap;ldo;我是大谷！≈ap;rdo;
简单聊了几句，两人约好第二天下午一点在鸭鸭餐厅门口见面。
第二天下午，林欣远远地就看见大谷老老实实立在店门外等着。
见林欣走过来，他们相视一笑。
≈ap;ldo;这家店的鸭子很有名。很多外地来出差、旅游的人也会到这里来尝尝。≈ap;rdo;林欣指着外买窗口上≈ap;ldo;祖传工艺、老卤秘制≈ap;rdo;那八个红字说：≈ap;ldo;南京人一般来这里打包鸭子带回去吃！≈ap;rdo;
大谷很高兴，跟着林欣进了店。店里有六、七成的客人。
他们找了个靠墙的位子坐下。
菜单送上来，大谷说：≈ap;ldo;林桑，点菜就拜托你了！≈ap;rdo;
林欣心里微微一动，这还是大谷第一次没有叫她≈ap;ldo;林老师≈ap;rdo;。
≈ap;ldo;这里的烤鸭很不错！≈ap;rdo;林欣看着菜单说。
≈ap;ldo;那就吃烤鸭吧。南京烤鸭！≈ap;rdo;大谷呵呵地笑着。
林欣也含笑点点头，又说：≈ap;ldo;你好不容易来南京一次，应该也尝尝我们的盐水鸭。≈ap;rdo;于是她点了小份的烤鸭和盐水鸭。其实林欣最爱的是≈ap;ldo;鸭四件≈ap;rdo;，只是怕大谷吃不惯。
点了菜等着。两人一边喝着饮料，一边聊天。
林欣看大谷穿着白底细蓝横条子的t恤衫，就问：≈ap;ldo;怎么，今天不用去上班吗？≈ap;rdo;
大谷微笑着说：≈ap;ldo;下午3:30要回去见个客户。≈ap;rdo;
以前每次和大谷见面，都是在小团体里。周二、周四晚间下了课，一起步行去车站，前后也总有胡老师等人。突然间单独和他面对面坐着, 一时间不知道说些什么好了。
大谷见林欣沉默着，就问：≈ap;ldo;林桑，回家来好不好？≈ap;rdo;
≈ap;ldo;好！≈ap;rdo;林欣立即回答。≈ap;ldo;我每天从早吃到晚，下个月回东京要减肥了！≈ap;rdo;
大谷笑了笑说：≈ap;ldo;我每次出差，都带着我的游泳裤，在酒店的游泳池游泳。不然老在外面吃油腻的东西，很快就吃成了大肚子！又不健康，又难看（かっこう悪い）！≈ap;rdo;
林欣听了，不禁笑出声来。大谷含笑看着她。
林欣忙说：≈ap;ldo;去年你来上翻译课之前，谢老师跟我介绍你，说你是个做生意的。我当时脑子里想像的就是一个秃顶、大肚子的中年大叔。≈ap;rdo;
≈ap;ldo;秃顶≈ap;hellip;≈ap;hellip;大肚子≈ap;rdo;大谷一面笑,一面重复着这两个词。
林欣以前从来没有认真端详过大谷，只是笼统地觉得他像吴剑平---她中学的同桌，都是那种娃娃脸的清秀型。今天这样近距离的坐着，她注意到他挺秀的鼻子。林欣认为自己的鼻子有点踏，总是深以为憾。看见这么秀美的鼻子长在一个男子脸上，她多少觉得有点暴殄天物。因为和剑平的相像，两人又常常说中文，林欣原来总是恍惚觉得大谷像中国人，但又有点什么非常不像。今天她才终于发现大谷≈ap;ldo;不像≈ap;rdo;的地方----他的眼神。像志远、像剑平、像春秋，他们即使是认真注视着你的时候，眼神也是留有余地的，关照到你以外的世界。而大谷、小林，包括原来カンカル的岛田，他们的眼神，用母亲的话说，是≈ap;ldo;直不笼统≈ap;rdo;的。
菜上来了，他们一面吃着，一面说起大谷在西安留学时候的事。
≈ap;ldo;我喜欢吃西安的面。特别是biangbiang面。≈ap;rdo;大谷说。
林欣有点害羞地问：≈ap;ldo;什么是biangbiang面？≈ap;rdo;
大谷很得意地笑着说：≈ap;ldo;是一种很宽的面条。上面加辣椒、葱、蒜，还有很多东西。不过我记不得了。≈ap;rdo;
≈ap;ldo;哎，中国好多地方我都没去过。作为一个中国人，真丢脸！≈ap;rdo;林欣真心实意地感叹道。
大谷很认真地说：≈ap;ldo;日语里有个说法叫做灯台元暗し（とうだいもとくらし）≈ap;rdo;，看了看林欣，他马上接着解释道：≈ap;ldo;这是说蜡烛可以把周围照亮，却照不到烛台底下。离我们越近的东西，却往往是我们了解最少的。≈ap;rdo;
林欣由衷地说：≈ap;ldo;这句话说得真好！我以前怎么没有听说过！还真是那么回事。我去了日本这一年，才对自己的国家有了更多的认识。比如说，以前我从来没意识到我们南京的鸭子有多么好吃！≈ap;rdo;
大谷哈哈大笑。
两人吃着、聊着，都很随意，不知怎么就说起了生日。
≈ap;ldo;林桑的生日是什么时候？≈ap;rdo;大谷问。
≈ap;ldo;刚过。是7月8号。大谷桑的呢？≈ap;rdo;林欣问。
≈ap;ldo;9月3号。≈ap;rdo;他又笑着追了一句：≈ap;ldo;和≈ap;ldo;机器猫≈ap;rdo;（日本卡通片里的一个形象）是同一天！≈ap;rdo;
≈ap;ldo;可惜9月3号我还在南京。不然可以带你去吃≈ap;ldo;铜锣烧≈ap;rdo;（铜锣烧是机器猫最爱吃的食物）！≈ap;rdo;林欣开着玩笑。
林欣觉得可以和大谷就这么聊下去，轻松而又开心。
两人吃完，大谷要付钱，林欣摆摆手：≈ap;ldo;我是东道，应该我来。≈ap;rdo;
