题记：这是一个普普通通的中国女孩子在九十年代末期留学日本时发生的故事。

东京都小平市站前咖啡店。
林欣虽然住在小平市，但是最近的电车站却是国分寺。
在日本，每一个电车站旁边，基本上都有一条商店街。国分寺站旁的这条小小的商店街是林欣常常光顾的地方。
窄窄的街道两边是各色小店，一个紧挨着一个。时装店、鞋店、糖果店、五金小货、元店（相当于美国的dolr 店）、咖啡店、房屋中介≈ap;hellip;≈ap;hellip; 衣食住行几乎应有尽有。每个小店都布置得很精致，单是看那些各具匠心的店头招牌就是林欣的一大乐趣。不过她最喜欢的还是这里的八屋（蔬菜店）。店头挑起半个蓝白条子的布篷，白底木头招牌上大大的几个黑字：xx青果。各式蔬菜整齐地码在镂空的深蓝色塑料箱子里，箱子的一端插着黄色的纸，上面用醒目的红色标着价码。店里的人总是很热情地招呼客人。这里让林欣想起在南京时和外婆常去的那个农贸市场，因此有一点点故乡的味道。
林欣也喜欢街角的那家咖啡店，黑色招牌上两个淡金色的≈ap;ldo;珈琲≈ap;rdo;。没来由的，她喜欢那两个汉字。店堂不大，深色的木地板，咖啡色的硬木家具，红色丝绒面子的座椅，天花板上垂下五彩玻璃罩子的灯。客人多的时候也不过二十来个人，大家都轻言细语地交谈，因此店里总是很安静。
选这家店和中岛见面，是因为岛田曾经带林欣来过这里。
那是个星期日，カンカル休息。岛田邀林欣喝咖啡、吃蛋糕。林欣并不是那么喜欢甜食，但是日本的蛋糕做得着实好：口感细腻，总是甜得恰到好处。配上一杯香浓的咖啡，就能消磨一两个钟头的惬意时光。
絮絮叨叨地，岛田一直在抱怨她的女儿。
≈ap;ldo;我刚买的项链，还没戴呢，就被那孩子给拿走了！自己挣不了什么钱，还买那么贵的衣服。整天伸手跟我要钱≈ap;hellip;≈ap;hellip;≈ap;rdo;
林欣插不上什么话，只是微笑着听她说。
岛田也说了不少店长的事。
≈ap;ldo;店长还没结婚那会儿，特别喜欢喝酒。后来结了婚，就不喝了。他可是知道疼自己的太太呢！那时候店里还没请帮手，我一个人忙前忙后，他都不说叫自己的老婆来帮个忙！≈ap;rdo;这到这里，岛田脸上很不满意的神情。
两人闲聊着，不知怎的就说到了常来店里的那个三十多岁的女客人。
≈ap;ldo;她呀，可是个爱玩的人呐。英国、美国都跑遍了。≈ap;rdo;岛田有点不以为然地说。
≈ap;ldo;看来还是不结婚的好，多自由啊！≈ap;rdo;林欣随口说。
岛田立刻严肃地说：≈ap;ldo;没有那回事！结婚才是一个女人最重的职业！林桑，你呀，就是花太多时间念书啦。一个女人，找工作什么的都靠不住，只有结婚才是女人的永久就职（长期饭票）！≈ap;rdo;
林欣只得敷衍着点点头。心里却想：可我怎么从来没听她提起她自己的丈夫呢。
今天林欣到咖啡店的时候，中岛已经在这里等着了。
他穿了一件长袖衬衣，领口袖口都扣得严严的，并没有打领带。看见林欣进来，他半立起身向她打招呼。
林欣一坐下，他马上把女服务生叫了过来，又问林欣喝什么。
林欣点了杯冰咖啡。
中岛从公文包里拿出一本英文课本递给林欣。林欣一看，是一本初级商务英语会话，内容很浅。林欣松了口气。
她翻了翻课本，问：≈ap;ldo;中岛先生，您打算怎么学呢？≈ap;rdo;
中岛的嘴巴动了又动，好容易才说：≈ap;ldo;你念，我跟着你念。≈ap;rdo;
中岛的发音实在古怪。而且他又有那个热身嘴巴的毛病，看他说英语，简直是一种折磨。林欣拼命忍着，可还是笑了出来。
中岛也笑了，从衣袋里掏出手帕，摘下眼镜擦了擦汗。
林欣觉得，这位中岛先生倒是个老实人。
今天店里只有稀稀落落几个客人。唯一的一个女服务生因此常常闲着。上次和岛田来的时候，林欣并没有见过她。
中岛忽然对林欣说：≈ap;ldo;那个女服务生可能不是日本人。≈ap;rdo;
林欣也觉得那服务生像中国人。
中岛于是又把那服务生叫了过来，一问，果然是中国人。
见到自己的同胞，林欣自然觉着亲切，就问她来日本多久了。
那女人看上去三十多岁年纪，画着浓妆，对林欣笑笑说：≈ap;ldo;快两年啦！你呢？≈ap;rdo;
林欣也微笑着说：≈ap;ldo;五个月啦！≈ap;rdo;
那女人羡慕道：≈ap;ldo;还是年轻好！你看，有人请你喝咖啡，就没有人请我。≈ap;rdo;
听了这话，林欣心里有点不舒服，不过还是说：≈ap;ldo;你也年轻呀。≈ap;rdo;
那女人可怜兮兮地说：≈ap;ldo;可是我长得不好看。≈ap;rdo;
林欣无语了。只庆幸她们说的是中文，中岛听不懂。
