题记：这是一个普普通通的中国女孩子在九十年代末期留学日本时发生的故事。

东京都小平市カンカル。
林欣在カンカル半年了。
开店时间是六点。七点之前，一般很少有客人来。即使有，也往往是岛田一个人就应付了。
七点之前，林欣的工作是在厨房把昨日洗碗机里洗好的杯盘碗碟及餐具都用餐巾擦拭干净，再一一归位。过了七点，客人渐渐多起来，林欣就得去做ホール（跑堂）的工作了。现在她已经做得很熟了。菜单上的每道菜，每种甜点，每样酒水饮料她都能倒背如流，还学会了调一些简单的酒：カシスオレンジ啦，ウーロンハイ啦，完全没有了刚来时的那份狼狈。
除了林欣，店里还有几个日本大学生不时来帮忙，赚点零花钱。不过她们都不指着这份收入生活，所以来与不来，全凭个人的高兴。而林欣是除了星期日店里休息，天天来上班的，因此很快成了力。
她话少，手脚却十分麻利。カンカル的客人以公务员、警察和日立制作所的职员居多，又几乎都是カンカル的会员，所以大多彬彬有礼。很多常来的客人慢慢认识了林欣，有时候也会和她聊两句，问她是中国哪里人、想不想家之类的问题。偶尔有个别难缠的女客人，或是色迷迷的男客人，林欣现在也应对自如了。这过去的六个月，那个刚出大学校门，被人仍然不时误认为高中生的林欣慢慢消失了。
店长嘴上从来没说过什么，却心明眼亮。
一天下了班，林欣正走到门口，岛田突然追出来悄悄塞给她两千日元，说是店长给的，让她去买双鞋子穿。林欣涨红了脸，不明白店长怎么知道她的鞋子坏了呢。
她脚上的这双平底黑皮鞋是从国内带过来的唯一一双平跟鞋。カンカル的工作走路多，因此她到店里来上班总穿着这双鞋。几个月下来，鞋底就绽开了。林欣一直拖着也没去买新的，就那么凑着。不想被店长发现了。
第二天她赶紧买了双鞋，要把钱还给店长，店长却只是摇摇头，继续闷头干活。
十一月的时候，林欣的时给由800升到了900日元。
平日里没有聚餐的日子，店里的客人少，林欣不到十一点就可以走了。周末和有聚餐的时候，常常要忙到半夜。打了卡，吃了晚餐，有时候岛田会让林欣调一些酒来大家一起喝一杯，放松一下。店长这时候也会和大家一起坐坐。不过他不大说话，只是默默地喝酒。劳累了一个晚上，大家在一起有一点家人的感觉，虽然只有那么十来分钟的时间。
一个周末，忙完了一个当地公司的大聚餐，大家又一起坐下喝一杯。
店里新来的小姑娘桥本问林欣来日本多久了。林欣告诉她已经半年了。
岛田接过话茬说：≈ap;ldo;林桑可是カンカル雇的第一个外国人哟！≈ap;rdo;店长笑眯眯地看着林欣，点点头，没说话。
林欣也微笑着看了看店长，又看了看岛田，眼里全是感谢。
岛田呷了一口酒，又对林欣说：≈ap;ldo;说实话，林桑，你来我们店工作以前我还以为中国人都像新闻里说的那么坏呢！≈ap;rdo;林欣听了这话，一时说不出话来，脸上的笑容也不由地消失了。岛田忙说：≈ap;ldo;你看，电视里一天到晚地说哪里哪里又有中国人盗窃了、抢劫了。就上星期，在，在哪来着，我真是老了！≈ap;rdo;岛田自嘲地拍怕自己的前额，≈ap;ldo;一个老太太在公寓里被杀了，钱都没了。又是中国人干的！我的朋友山崎先生，山崎先生的朋友，去了中国，结果被关到监狱里去了。中国很可怕！外国都很可怕！我就不出国，哪里也没有日本安全！≈ap;rdo;她顿了顿，又说：≈ap;ldo;对了对了，还说中国人连狗肉都吃！多么残忍！≈ap;rdo;岛田雪白的脸和鲜红的嘴在厨房明晃晃的灯光下，看得林欣有点眼晕。林欣的脸忽然涨得通红，虽然她喝的只是加了冰的橘子水。她也不知道自己现在是个什么心情，是生气呢，还是什么别的。她真险的说：我学日语以前也以为日本人都是《小兵张嘎》《地道战》里那些说着≈ap;ldo;米西米西≈ap;rdo;≈ap;ldo;死啦死啦≈ap;rdo;到处找花姑娘的坏蛋呢！可和这个カンカル的老板娘岛田又怎么说得清？
